Who is behind Online Cycling Gear Australia?

At Online Cycling Gear Australia, we are not your traditional Cycling Gear Store. We specialise in unique, themed, retro while partnering with great Australian independent brands like MAMIL Apparel, Vixen Cycling and PAVE Athletica.

Combined with our in-house OCG Originals brand and a unique partnership with our manufacturer, we bring new designs out weekly based on your suggestions and what is happening around the world.

Online Cycling Gear, or OCG for short (because we all love a good abbreviation in Australia right?) is run by two Aussie cyclists based out of Brisbane Australia.

Initially, we launched into the US and European markets in 2016, before bringing things back home and opening OCG Australia to provide our fellow Aussies with a better deal on exchanges, delivery and pricing.

We focus on what we know best. Providing unique, retro and original gear to you at direct-from-manufacturer prices.

We've been in online business for almost 17 years in one form or another. Now, we get to combine our passion for cycling with our deep knowledge of leveraging the internet to create amazing deals.

It is a true passion business.

Last year alone we sold gear to over 71 countries across Australasia, Asia, Europe and the Americas through our global OCG store and that list continues to grow.

Short of Antarctica, we have literally sent gear to all continents of the world.

As time goes on we are adding more of our own OCG designs based on actual customer feedback, and we can do on-request custom cycling gear as well.

In fact you can see the first of those as you read on, but first, a word from our founder.

Started by two regular guys who love cycling

Hi, Adam here, founder of Online Cycling Gear and Online Cycling Gear Australia.

Here I am many many (many) years ago smashing out my first Triathlon on my first ever road bike (smashing may be overstating it a little).

A custom-made aluminium framed beast from eBay made right here in Queensland.

Look at that poor form, those tri-bars pointing to the sky.

It was not pretty.

These days a 12km commute ride to our offices on a flat bar hybrid is as good as it gets. No matter the reason for a ride, we always need to be comfortable, and more importantly, a little stylish as well.

Since we opened OCG, we have built a unique relationship with our manufacturer in China to produce our OCG line of cycling gear and ship it anywhere in the world for free!

The greatest thing about the expanding world of eCommerce and online business? We can leverage the same production processes the major players do all over the world, but with our reduced online-only costs, we can pass the savings to you. 

What makes us different?

So why are we different from other stores?

New designs every week

Well for starters, thanks to a very close relationship with our manufacturer, we release new designs almost on a daily basis.

By shipping directly from the manufacturer and avoiding the long lead time warehousing brings, we can react faster than anyone else. Have an idea, let us know, and we can have it in store as fast as we can design it.

Western sizing

Now some of you might be thinking. Made in China? Does that mean tiny Asian sizes like all those other stores?

The answer is no (well, not anymore). We have shifted our men's sizing to fall into line with many western brands (check our sizing charts for more details) making it easier to get the sizing right the first time.

Best of all, every jersey, no matter the brand follows the same sizing (it is part of the deal of partnering with us).

Improved fabrics

This year we upgraded the fabrics on all of our jersey range, to a softer and breathable 140 GSM polyester. 

We added mesh side panels for cooling, upgraded or bib chamois and made our pro-band premium leg grippers standard across all our knicks and bib range.
